Vacation!

Last week Aaron and I went to St. Louis on vacation. Honestly, where else would we go? Our vacation started Wednesday night when we went golfing in town. Well, Aaron golfed and I just drove the cart. I love golfing! :) After that we got ice cream. Thursday morning we slept in and then left around 12:30 for St. Louis. We ate supper at Steak 'n' Shake and then went to the Cardinals game. Our hotel was in Illinois and we took the Metro into the city. The game was a little delayed due to rain. It poured and poured! The game did not go very well. Cards lost 11-1. We left after the 6th inning when they took Pujols out. There wasn't much point in staying after that. Friday morning we woke up at 4:30 to go stand in line at the stadium to get First Pitch tickets. They are tickets that are returned from players or season ticket holders that the stadium resells for $11(for 2 tickets). We got there at about 5:45 and waited until 9:00. We met a couple in line and played a little Skip-Bo to pass the time. At 9:00 we paid for the tickets and they gave us a voucher. 15 minutes before the game they give you the tickets and you don't know where they will be. We spent the rest of the morning at the zoo. We ran into Aaron's Uncle Bruce and Aunt Dianne and their family. We walked around and ate lunch with them. What a nice surprise! After we left the zoo we went to the Science Center and then to Union Station. We got some new Cardinals shirts and ate supper there. We headed back to the stadium for the game. That night they played the Cubs. Our tickets ended up being standing room. I was pretty disappointed about that because we got up at 4:30 in the morning to get them, but we ended up finding some open seats. That game didn't go very well either. They lost again. However, Pujols hit is 300th homerun and that made it all worth it! The next morning we slept in and left at check out. We stopped at Goodwill and then at Qdoba for lunch! What a treat! Monday we are leaving to go to Michigan with our Bible quiz team for Quiz Nationals. We just don't know how to stay at home! Holy cow!
