Home #6 for the Zehrs
April 3 we moved into our new house in Eureka, IL. So far we are loving it! Kaitlyn adjusted very well and she really likes it too! Moving day we had a lot of help from church. Sorry, I have no pictures because the camera battery was dead. I'm pretty sad because I like to document everything. :) Here are the pictures of the new place. I'll have to update it later because we don't have all the decorating done. That will take some time so I get it just how I want it!
Our house is lovacated in a subdivion and is within walking distance of the lake/park.

Kaitlyn's Birthday Party
Saturday we had a birthday party for Kaitlyn. My parents, my brother Lee, and his wife Becca came for the weekend and to celebrate with us so we had the party on Saturday instead of her actual birthday on Sunday. It was fun to have part of my family and all of Aaron's here at the same time. We had an easy supper of hot dogs, hamburgers, and sides. And cake of course! Kaitlyn did a great job all evening. She didn't tear into her cake but she liked it. She did a great job with her presents too. Our first child's first birthday was a success and so much fun! Here are some pictures...
Reading with Uncle Lee
Swinging with Grandma
The cake! I made Kaitlyn a small one that was in the shape of a 1
At the beginning of the party Kaitlyn took a nose dive on the deck and got a fat lip.
She liked the cake!
1 Year Old
Kaitlyn turned 1 year old this past weekend on April 22. I can't believe how much she has changed in one year. It's amazing how much babies learn to do in that first year of life! She is at such a fun age. I love being at home with her everyday to see her learn new things. If I were to describe her personality right now I think it would be an energetic sweetheart. She is always on the move but she is such a sweetie and shows us love all the time.
Kaitlyn...
*is cruising along furniture. She got a walking toy for her birthday and she has been pushing that around the past couple days and doing great at it! I think she likes the independence of walking around by herself.
*continues to jabber all the time. The other day she opened my old children's Bible and "read" to me for 20 minutes straight. So adorable!
*gives the best hugs! She hugs us all the time and gives hugs to her stuffed animals and baby dolls too.
*gives kisses at bedtime or when saying goodbye. Actually she just makes the kissing sound but it's still so cute. :)
*loves her baby doll. It's wearing boy clothes so we call him Baby Joey. One day I just asked her if we should call him that and she smiled really big so it just stuck. She hugs him and likes to rock him in the rocking chair. She put her mouth up to him and gave him a kiss yesterday too! It's funny how even this early girls are natural nurturers.
*has 6 teeth- 3 top, 3 bottom
*loves the stairs. She is a pro at going up but doesn't know how to go back down.
*doesn't like sitting in the grass and won't crawl in it.
*loves to swing. She likes to go high and fast. Aaron said that she's going to love underdogs one day. :)
*wants to have someone sitting next to her while she plays. She doesn't really involve you while she's playing, she just wants you right there.
*sleeps 12 hours at night. Her night time sleep is very consistent but naps are different. Sometimes she's tired for a morning nap and sometimes not. Lately she's only been sleeping one nap for an hour. I can't complain because she sleeps 12 hours and sleeps in until 8:00 but it is kind of hard to get things done during the day. She hasn't been too good at planning by herself since we moved.
*is a little picky with finger foods. She loves the pureed stuff but doesn't always want to eat certain finger foods. Sometimes I have to put whatever it is in her mouth so she'll taste it. When I do she realizes she likes it and feeds herself.
*Her favorite toys are peg board puzzles, cups/blocks, books(she loves to turn the pages), and her baby doll.
*We've been doing sign language with Kaitlyn. The signs she knows are: more, all done, milk, eat(which to her is the same sign as milk), and she also knows how to high-five :)
*Words Kaitlyn understands: more, all done, milk, eat, hug, Kaitlyn, Daddy, Mommy, Grandma, kitty, Lexi, bye-bye, wave, baby, clap, shake, rock(action), tongue, teeth, nose, kiss, mouth, no(Atleast I'm pretty sure she understands it. She doesn't always listen though!) I'm sure she understands more words, these are just the words I can tell she understands by her actions.
