Brayden Michael Replogle

I am an aunt all over again!! Brayden Michael was born Thursday, February 22 at 12:05 AM. He was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long. After school on Friday I was able to travel home to see the new arrival as well as the happy parents. : ) Aaron was unable to come because of his work schedule. I could not wait to see him! He was so little compared to Jarrett. I went to their house Friday night and then spent most of the afternoon on Saturday with them. I was lucky enough to have Brayden take a nap on me for almost 3 hours! It was wonderful! Even though I was sad to leave at 4:30 that afternoon I was very much looking forward to being with my husband again! We are so blessed to have another nephew. It makes us want to have a child now...Just Kidding!! We will enjoy other people's children for now. : )

Jarrett is such a wonderful big brother!

Snow!!

What's another name for lots of snow on February 14th? Why a chocolate blizzard of course!!

Anyway, enough with the Aaron humor. If the picture doesn't explain the scene here in Marion, well nothing will. Over the last 36 hours we've received over a foot of snow that's caused some drifts over 2 feet deep. A bitter sweet thing for Megan and myself. While we absolutely loved playing outside with our adopted family in the afternoon, our dues were paid in the morning trying to free our cars from their fluffy prisons. Sadly, tomorrow is probably back to normal as much as it can be. Megan and I both enjoyed days off the last two days due to the snow. It's funny how as a kid you have no regrets about snow days, but when you can't get to work a rising snow drift means your bank account isn't. Anyhow, my words can only do so much. Enjoy the eye candy below and try not to freeze your tongue.

Notice the amount of snow on my car compared to in front of it...yea, ridiculous

Simple logic will help you determine who is behind the shovel and who is behind the camera doing the heavy work

Yea...try being on the bottom!

Illinois Reception

This past weekend Aaron and I traveled to Illinois to celebrate our marriage another time. We just can't get enough. : ) Since the wedding was here in Marion, we decided it would be good to have another reception for those in Illinois who couldn't travel the long distance. The reception was on Saturday afternoon. Aaron's mom did a wonderful job of decorating and getting all the food. My parents were able to come out for it as well. We were so glad to have them there and they really enjoyed themselves. They also brought my dress to have on display and they brought our wedding pictures. After the reception we cleaned everything up and then we took our parents and Aaron's sister out for dinner as a big thank you for all they did for the wedding. We came back and opened our presents.

Here are some of our wedding pictures for you to enjoy!!

The Lost Picture

So, apparently Megan and i forgot to post one of our pictures from the honeymoon. We were looking through our album and noticed such a huge mistake. This picture quite possibly sums up the whole week. To see this wonderful snapshot scroll down...

Because after all...there's a little M&M in all of us.

Um...Mrs. Z..whatever your name is...

Monday was my first day of substitute teaching. I was in a second grade classroom. Sunday afternoon I found out there was a 2 hour delay so that made it a great first day! There are perks to living in Indiana during the winter! : ) It was nice to finally be in the classroom again. I was getting a little restless here at home trying to keep busy and watching Matlock in the afternoons while Aaron was at work. It was pretty weird being called Mrs. Zehr after being used to Miss Snider for so long. The students had a hard time saying my name. I didn't think it was that difficult but I got a few Mrs. Z...whatever your name is. It was pretty funny.

The students were well behaved in the morning but had a rough afternoon. It was hard not being in complete control because I was only the substitute and not their regular teacher. I also got a lot of..."But our teacher ususally does this!" Many times I had to say, "Well, Mrs. Zehr is here so this is the way we are going to do it." One thing that I decided I will enjoy about subbing is that if I have a class that doesn't behave well, I just pick up my things at the end of the day and say, "Adios", not having to come back the next day. For the rest of this week I am scheduled to substitute so I'm excited about that. I still haven't heard about the literacy specialist job but I'm glad to be working until that happens.

Finally employed!.....well, kinda

Megan and myself are now officially employees of the Marion Community School district. Today we were interviewed and hired as substitute teachers. Megan will sub in grades K-5 and myself 6-12. We are both very excited to have this opportunity to make some money. I will still work at Dunham's but will hopefully be able to sub on days I don't work there. We are however still waiting to hear about Megan's job at Allen Elementary. The grant the school applied for still has not come in yet. We are both hoping this will happen soon.

There hasn't been too much else to report other than that. We spend most of our time enjoying the married life together. We are both beginning to become accustomed to each other's TV show preferences. Megan is more of a drama watcher while I am heavy on sports and well, more sports.

I also feel obligated to put a little "Go Colts" in the post. I'm torn between rooting during the Superbowl for the state I grew up in or the state in which I currently live. My conclusion to root for the Colts is based on two things: (1) It will be easier to root for the same team everyone else in the room is cheering for and (2) I now have an Indiana driver's license, which I guess means I now officially live and breath in this state.
